Candidate Bios

Candidate Statement: I am honored to be considered for this position, and I'm ready to bring my leadership experience if given the opportunity. I am also the acting program director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program. If elected, I will continue to foster strong engagement among members, follow in the footsteps of the current Governor, and seek out more opportunities to improve. Candidate Statement: I’d like to serve you as Governor of our DC chapter. I have given long-standing service to the ACP. Professional societies today face challenges recruiting and retaining members. Internists’ treatment of patients must be valued. As Director of GW’s Renal Division, I increased research, enhanced education, and cared for many sick patients. At Washington Academy of Medicine, I successfully coordinated recruitment. Enhancing residents’ and fellows’ involvement at Chapter and National levels, and preserving physician reimbursement are critical. These endeavors require champions at all local hospitals and medical schools, networking within their faculty and medical staffs, and grass roots support from practicing physicians. I’m eager to enhance my involvement and contributions to the College. I’ll devote time and energy to these goals, bringing established relationships among NIH, local medical schools and the broader DC medical community to bear. I envision working with you for the College and its DC chapter.
