Pain Management Learning Series

This interactive training series consists of 7 core modules and 2 sets of case studies.

Pain Management 5: Nonopioid Pharmacotherapy includes reviewing drug class selection for different types of pain, framing conversations with patients about pharmacotherapy options, and learning how to adjust pharmacotherapy choices for specific pain syndromes and individual patients. By the conclusion of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Frame a conversation with patients about selecting the best pharmacotherapy for their specific pain.
  • Identify specific drug classes with proven efficacy for specific types of pain control and their potential adverse effects.
  • Educate patients about the pharmacologic treatment of pain, including appropriate expectations, time frames, and benefits of de-escalation, when appropriate.
  • Adjust pharmacotherapy choices for specific pain syndromes and individual patient considerations.

Modules and CME/MOC credit are free to ACP Members. Nonmembers may purchase access to claim CME/MOC credit for each module for $25 or the full package of 7 learning modules and 2 sets of case studies for $199 by clicking “Learn More/Buy”.
