Volunteerism Committee Chairs

Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Saini
Dr. Saini's dedication to volunteerism is deeply rooted in her Sikh faith, where Seva (selfless service) is a core principle. She actively participates in healthcare education by delivering public talks on hypertension, diabetes, and wellness to raise community health awareness. In addition, she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Queen Anne’s County Library, further demonstrating her commitment to community service. Through her board involvement, she has gained valuable insight into the U.S. education and library systems while providing input on a variety of community issues.
She has worked in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where she has focused on addressing healthcare disparities and improving access to care. During this time, she also served as a Clinical Preceptor for the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Physician Assistant Program, mentoring students in medically underserved communities. By leveraging local media platforms to discuss critical health topics and the importance of primary care, she has helped increase health awareness among underserved populations.
As Co-Chair of the Volunteer Committee, she hopes to lead meaningful initiatives focused on community health screenings, educational outreach in schools and faith-based organizations, mentorship opportunities for aspiring healthcare professionals and medical residents, and collaborative partnerships with local organizations to improve community health and well-being.
