Education and Publication Committee

Charge

Develop plans and strategies to create and/or disseminate scientific, clinical, and professional information addressing the needs of researchers, physicians, residents, students, and other health care professionals; develop or support educational policy to improve health and the quality, safety, and affordability of patient care.

Composition (13)

Chair, who is a Regent; Vice-Chair, who is a Governor; 11 members, including at least one Regent, at least one Governor, one Medical Student, one Resident/Fellow member, and one Early Career Physician member. Strive for representatives from each of the following:

  • Subspecialty Fellows
  • Hospitalists
  • International Physicians
  • Subspecialists
  • Practicing physician
  • Academic (3 from different areas: students, resident education and department chair)
  • A representative from the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM) and a representative from the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators (AODME). Each attends committee meetings as a guest.

Terms

Chair, Vice Chair, and members-at-large serve one-year, renewable up to three times for a total of four years, unless extended by the Chair, BOR.
