In this month’s communication, we celebrate the success of ACP’s Internal Medicine Meeting 2026. ACP is pleased to announce that LeRoi Hicks, MD, MPH, MACP, has been appointed by the Board of Regents as the next Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of ACP. Dr. Hicks will assume the position on July 6, 2026. Dr. Hicks will succeed Darilyn Moyer, MD, MACP, ACP’s current Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, and the longest-serving female physician to lead a medical specialty society in the U.S.
ACP is accepting applications for the 2026-27 Global Physician Scholar Program through June 1. Be sure to read this issue’s featured interview from 2024-25 Global Physician Scholar Dr. Noora Alhajri. Additionally, nominations for the ACP Inspirational Global Member Award and other honors are open through July 1. The College offers many awards and a number of Masterships each year to recognize outstanding contributions in medicine, teaching, research, public service, leadership, and medical volunteerism. Consider submitting your nomination or sharing the information with a colleague today.
ACP has introduced a new member-exclusive program designed to support and empower women physicians at every stage of their careers. The Women in Medicine (WIM) Professional Development Initiative is a longitudinal program designed to build leadership and communication skills through personalized coaching and peer connection opportunities.
