Thank you for visiting the CT ACP website! We have developed this site to keep internists in Connecticut up-to-date and in-the-loop on the issues and activities that affect our Chapter.
ACP is the nation's largest medical specialty organization. Membership comprises more than 161,000 internal medicine physicians, medical students, and allied health professionals. The Connecticut Chapter offers educational, professional, and social programs for internists in our state. We also represent our interests at the state Capitol and bring a voice to the needs of our patients whenever possible. If you’re an internist in Connecticut and not yet an ACP member, I invite you to browse our site to learn more about both the College and our Chapter activities.
As Governor, I’m responsible for representing our Chapter at the national level; encouraging internists in our state to become members, including advancing to Fellowship; recognizing members for their achievements; soliciting input and action on national and local issues affecting the environment of internal medicine; hosting local scientific meetings and CME events; and encouraging Medical Student Members and Resident/Fellow Members to participate in local and national College activities. Our goal is to be your local professional home-through valuable networking, professional development, advocacy, and educational activities that enhance both your member experience and your role as an internist.
Keep an eye out for our chapter newsletters, which will also be posted on this site, and other emails about upcoming meetings and events. Opportunities for engagement with your colleagues and our chapter are regularly available.
We welcome any suggestions you might have as we focus on making us all better physicians and improving our professional quality of life. We hope you’ll visit our site frequently and join us at one of our upcoming events.
Ruth Weissberger, MD, FACPACP Governor, ACP CT Chapter
