Candidate Statement: I seek election as Governor of the ACP Mexico Chapter because I strongly believe in ACP’s mission and in the transformative impact of high-quality, evidence-based, and humanistic medical education. As Chief Executive of ACP Mexico, I have actively participated in the design, implementation, and promotion of academic and organizational strategies that contributed to achieving Gold Level Chapter Excellence recognition and strengthening ACP’s national visibility and growth. My experience combines Hospital Medicine, academic leadership, healthcare workforce development, digital medical education, and continuing professional education. I currently serve as Professor of Internal Medicine at a major national referral hospital and as Titular Counselor of the Mexican Board of Internal Medicine. I am particularly committed to expanding access to high-value medical education in underserved regions through innovative academic initiatives. I believe my experience in chapter growth, strategic development, leadership training, and international collaboration would allow me to contribute meaningfully to ACP.

Candidate Statement: Internal medicine and medical education had been my passion since I began my residency. Being part of ACP opened my scope in other aspects of my medicine practice (leadership, coaching, looking how other colleagues work around the world, innovation, wellness). Our present and former governors have been working very hard to make our chapter a really part of all this ¨form of living internal medicine". I want to continue with their philosophy but I have the expertise, the networking to make our chapter grow and innovate. In Mexico, the figure of the internist has been minimized in some places by other specialties like cardiology, endocrinology and I want to return and make visible the importance of internal medicine. Empower internist´s work and importance in Mexican health system. Potentialize leadership and wellness and social activities in our communities and strategic alliances with other chapters in Latin America, USA and Europe.
