Except where otherwise indicated—for example, when content is published under a Creative Commons license or is not eligible for copyright protection—ACP content is protected by copyright.
Making ACP content freely accessible online does not necessarily authorize its reproduction, redistribution, or commercial use. Unless otherwise stated in the applicable license or terms of use, permission is required to reuse ACP articles, figures, tables, videos, podcasts, and other content.
Reprints, E-prints, and Toll-Free Links
To request a print reprint, e-print, or toll-free link for content from the following ACP publications, e-mail reprints@acponline.org.

Print reprints are professionally printed copies of an article. E-prints are licensed electronic copies for controlled distribution. Toll-free links provide sponsored access to an article without requiring the reader to subscribe or pay.
Print reprints must be ordered in quantities of at least 100. E-prints and toll-free links are available for distributions of fewer than 100 copies or recipients.

Permissions for ACP Publications
Information to Include
Please identify the ACP content you wish to reuse and provide:
- The article title, DOI, URL, or other identifying information;
- The figure or table number, if applicable;
- A description of how and where the material will be used;
- The requested format or formats;
- The estimated circulation, distribution, or audience size;
- The language or languages;
- The title and publisher of the new work;
- Whether the new work will be sold;
- The requesting organization; and
- The requested territory and duration of use.
Annals of Internal Medicine Permissions Through RightsLink
To request permission to reuse material published in Annals of Internal Medicine, open the article on the journal website and select the Permissions (lock) icon in the article tools located below the article title. You will then be directed to RightsLink to submit your request.
