Governor's Welcome
Dear colleagues,
I am thankful that we had our highest attended Tri-Service ACP Meeting in Bethesda, MD and that so many of us connected with each other at the event. We missed many of you who could not come to the meeting, but we can't wait to see you next year in San Antonio, TX. Our planning committee (chaired by Dr. Cate Bettger) impressed us all, exceeding our expectations. In addition to having the most robust meeting agenda with 6 concomitant sessions occurring at the same time for most of the meeting, we displayed our ongoing focus on fellowship, networking, collaboration, building relationships in a remarkable, strong community of military internal medicine physicians and subspecialists. Yet again, we empowered each other and fostered belonging in our professional home and left the meeting refreshed and with renewed commitment to all we do. We had over 350 attendees from all three military services – coming from 3 different countries, 23 states, 12 residency programs and 9 medical schools.
Meeting program/CME: The meeting agenda was robust with 17.5 hours of CME/MOC delivered by speakers from our Tri-Service internal medicine family who displayed expertise, shared their experiences and role modeled commitment to excellence. The senior leader panel, moderated by MAJ Bettger got the meeting off to a great start. Our senior leaders (Lt Gen DeGoes, MG Murray and Dr. McGinnis) provided valuable guidance and direction, and their presence made our community feel valued and heard. We were also fortunate to learn from Dr. Bill Kelly and his team who offered a sophisticated and fun escape room for the duration of the meeting. So many of our members enjoyed solving medical mysteries while learning about the power of collaboration and teamwork.

Awards
Member accomplishments are impressive and inspiring. We would like to thank all who recognized these achievements and took the time to invest in colleagues by nominating them for awards. We owe so much gratitude to LTC Ian McInnis for chairing our Awards Committee. He solicited nominations, assured that the selection process was equitable and fair and notified the recipients. We are proud of all the award recipients, and we are inspired by their achievements and commitment to our collective success. If you would like to serve on the Awards Committee, please reach out to me.

Chapter Updates
Chapter Excellence Award
Our chapter received Gold level Chapter Excellence Award, recognizing the chapter for surpassing excellence in chapter management in 2026. This recognition is accompanied by $5000 from national ACP. I would like to thank our Executive Committee and the Governor's Advisory Council for their commitment to the success of our chapter and to ACP.
National Recognitions
Please congratulate Dr. Jessica Bunin, Dr. Joshua Hawley-Molloy and Dr. Joan Ritter for their selection for Mastership in American College of Physicians. This is a tremendous honor, competitively awarded only to those highly accomplished physicians who demonstrate impact in clinical practice, leadership, scholarship, and service to their community.
Chapter Composition/Financial Status
We are a medium-sized chapter which remains financially solvent. Most of our profit is from membership dues, awards from the National ACP and sponsorship for the meeting. We are proud that our chapter membership dues (a small percentage of your annual ACP membership dues) remain one of the lowest when compared to other state/international ACP chapters. We thank you for your loyalty, your membership, your commitment to Army ACP. Please let me know what our chapter could do to increase the value of ACP membership for you.
Governor Elections
It is already time to select the next Army Chapter governor. Dr. Josh Hawley-Molloy (as the immediate past governor and a member of our Executive Council) is chairing the nomination committee. I will continue to serve as the Army chapter governor until May 2029, although the next governor will be selected by April 2027 and that individual will undergo required training/onboarding for the position until April 2029. You will all receive information on the nominees and you will have the opportunity to vote.
Please stay tuned for additional information on how to get involved on the Army ACP chapter level! Each of you makes our chapter uniquely special. I treasure you and I am honored to serve with you!
Save the date for our next Tri-Service ACP Annual Meeting at the Hilton Palacios Del Rio, San Antonio, TX from 25-27 August 2027. Can't wait to see you all there.
