Candidate Statement: I am honored to be a nominee. ACP is a leading voice in the changing field of medicine and should respond to these opportunities and challenges. With my membership since medical school, I have learned the many ways ACP provides mentoring, advocacy, networking, and clinical education and I have gained tremendous knowledge and skills from these ACP activities in my clinical practice. As a member of the LA Governor’s Council and Treasurer, I had the opportunity to learn about the issues of members across the state and work to promote engaging activities for the membership on the program planning committee. A role for the Governor is to create channels of communication with members so that their voices, perspectives, and challenges are heard and echoed to the Board of Governors. I look forward to the opportunity to advance our profession and engage with members as the voice of our ACP chapter.

Candidate Statement: The unofficial motto of ACP is “come for the science, stay for the people”, and this absolutely represents my experience. From local mentors to participating in national committees, I am so grateful for the learning experiences and long-lasting relationships ACP has given me. I want others to experience the same. As an academic hospitalist and APD for internal medicine residents, I spent my days immersed in clinical care and graduate medical education. Practicing medicine in a city and state with many growth opportunities to improve health, I have the privilege of being part of the highs and lows of patient’s journeys though the healthcare system. To me, part of a physician’s professional responsibility is to make health system change to provide optimal health for our communities. I am committed to medical education and postgraduate training, clinical practice, and healthy communities. I am honored to be considered for this position.
