Hello my Indiana ACP Colleagues,

I am reaching out to you with so much excitement and renewed sense of hope. Not only because the weather is turning and the days are beautiful and longer, but because we have just returned from a week in San Francisco at the National ACP meeting.

As Mother Nature adds color to our trees and lawns, we trade winterwear for spring wear and welcome all the amazing changes that come with it. For ACP Indiana, that included our Fort Wayne Road show, which was a huge success. Thank you to Dr Scott Yen and everyone that chose to come out that day and make an evening out of it, on March 13th 2026.

ACP National was April 16 – 18th, 2026 in San Francisco, and what an exhilarating and fun meeting it was. The speakers were, as always, phenomenal, whether you were a specialist, a hospitalist, or in general internal medicine practice. Whether you were a medical student, a resident, early physician, or a seasoned veteran – ACP has, and always will, have something for everyone. No surprise there.

This meeting was extra special for me, since I was able to share it with my daughter Dilanya, a third-year medical student. It was her first National ACP meeting, and it was a beautiful thing to be able to experience it all, through her eyes. We even got to take in some of the sights of San Fran too, from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Muir Redwoods and even Alcatraz.

The Board of Governors met as well, and reaffirmed our focus on membership, advocacy and financial strength. Other highlights include the never-disappointing Convocation as well as the IN-chapter reception, this year at the El-Dorado, and their scrumptious empanadas.

Congratulations to our Doctors Dilemma team from Indiana University who managed to make it to round 2, before getting eliminated, but not before having a wonderful time, and representing their residency and their state with pride! Nice job to Felipe Soto, Patrick Ryan and Raul Gregg Garcia.

Congrats again to the Residents and students who represented our state at the poster presentations. I met with some of them and was so very impressed.

Congrats to Mitchell Mehringer, Caitlyn Phillips, Caden Tuinstra, Syed Jaffari, Waqas Ahmad, and Kevin Nowakowski.

We have the upcoming Leadership Day as well, later this month. The Indiana ACP Chapter will once again be sending a delegation with practicing physicians, medical students, and leaders from the Governor's Council, as we continue to take key issues to Capitol Hill, all led by Dr Kat Palmisano.

Case reports and case series are valuable tools for sharing clinical knowledge while fostering scholarship and mentorship among internists and trainees. This initiative aims to support scholarly activity in Indiana and promote equitable access to publication opportunities associated with the American College of Physicians, particularly for individuals facing barriers related to time, limited publication venues, and publication costs.
