Washington, DC (August 10, 2018) — The American College of Physicians (ACP) today expressed significant concerns with the proposed rule that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released that would drastically change the rules for Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP). Under the program, groups of physician practices, hospitals and other health care professionals provide coordinated care to their Medicare beneficiary patients, with potential to share in any savings they are able to generate for the system.
