SAVE-THE-DATE For The ACP Idaho Chapter Meeting
We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming meeting May 15-17, 2026 to be held at ICOM (Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine) in Meridian, ID. The planning committee has been doing an amazing job getting ready! Poster competition will be held on Friday May 15, 2026. More details including the due dates for abstracts will be provided closer to the meeting date.
Chapter Excellence Award
I am pleased to announce that our chapter is in receipt of the Gold Level of the 2025 Chapter Excellence Award! The award recognizes truly extraordinary chapters that surpass excellence in chapter management. We are in the company of 68 other outstanding chapters. To achieve the Gold Level of the Chapter Excellence Award, chapters must meet 22 Bronze criteria, 12 Silver criteria and 25 Gold level activities. Criteria include such activities as having a legislative action plan or agenda, holding a volunteerism/community service activity, holding multiple stand-alone meetings, having revenue sources outside of dues and meeting registration fees, implementing a strategic plan, implementing a formal recruitment and retention plan and measuring outcomes, conducting various activities for Medical Students, Residents and Early Career Physicians. I would like to extend a special thanks to those chapter members who assisted us in all of these endeavors! For their hard work and dedication, we received this award.

Council of Students
The Idaho Chapter Council of Students is working on another subspecialist meeting. The council has held these over the last few years. The meeting is open to students from all over the state and is held to allow them to question physicians already in their chosen field and help them decide what they want to do in the future. Membership on the council rotates often as students move through their training. If you are interested in joining the council, please email the chapter Executive Director: Kelly Hess
New I.M. Career Path Quiz for Medical Students and I.M. Residents
The Public Relations and Web Communications Department has developed a new I.M. Career Path Quiz. This 5-question, member-only quiz asks about professional strengths, interests, and preferences to determine possible internal medicine career choices. The goal is to increase awareness about the variety of internal medicine careers available and encourage medical students to choose internal medicine as their specialty. It can also be used by I.M. residents to explore possible career path trajectories.
Users can back-track and change their answers mid-quiz. They can also retake the quiz, print their results, or share the quiz link with other ACP members.
