ACP Venezuela Chapter Meeting
May 18, 2016

The ACP Venezuela Chapter held its annual scientific meeting in conjunction with the Venezuelan Society of Internal Medicine Meeting on May 18, 2016 in Caracas, Venezuela. There were over 500 attendees present at the meeting. Roberto Esguerra, MD, FACP, Governor, ACP Colombia Chapter, was invited by the ACP Venezuela Chapter Governor, Aquiles Salas, MD, FACP to participate as the ACP International Ambassador to this meeting. Dr. Esguerra gave his presentation remotely via webinar on the topic "High Value Care: The Colombia Chapter's Experience".

Polish Society of Internal Medicine Ethics Symposium
May 19, 2016

The Polish Society of Internal Medicine held its annual Ethics Symposium on May 19, 2016 in Krakow, Poland. The theme of this year's Ethics Symposium was "Ethical Dilemmas in Medical Practice: Can Physicians Help Patients in Dying?" Daniel Sulmasy, MD, PhD, MACP attended the meeting as the ACP International Ambassador. Dr. Sulmasy is Kilbride-Clinton Professor of Medicine and Ethics at the Department of Medicine and Divinity School at the University of Chicago where he is also Associate Director of the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics.

There were 250 physicians from all over Poland in attendance.

ACP Japan Chapter Meeting
June 4-5, 2016

The ACP Japan Chapter held its annual scientific meeting from June 4-5, 2016 in Kyoto, Japan. The theme of the meeting was "Raising Generalist Medicine: To Improve Health and Health Care in Japan." Wayne J. Riley, MD, MPH, MBA, MACP, ACP Immediate Past President, attended the meeting as the Leadership Liaison per the invitation of Fumiaki Ueno, MD, MACP, Governor, ACP Japan Chapter Governor. Dr. Riley gave the keynote lecture on the topic "Health Disparities in the United States". The meeting also featured awards presentations and a Doctor's Dilemma competition.
