Joshua C. Ranum, MD, FACP, ACP Governor

Greetings,

The students and residents are settling in, kids are heading back to school, and our annual meeting is right around the corner. The chapter has three exciting things to highlight.

1. Midwest Chapter webinar on September 11, 2025 from 6-7 Central featuring our very own Dr. Cicely Littlewolf. Dr. Littlewolf will be one of two speakers on rural Indigenous health. She has spoken at our annual meeting and did a great job, I'm excited for her to have a broader audience.

2. Our annual meeting will be held on October 3, 2025 at the Delta Hotel in Fargo. We have an excellent lineup planned in conjunction with SHM and the ND Medical Association. This year, we've adjusted the schedule to allow more time to interact with fellow members. Please visit the Meeting Hub for details and registration.

3. Dr. Mitch Keena was featured on the ACP website. Mitch is currently a PGY4 chief resident in Fargo and has become very involved with the ACP chapter as a Resident Council member. He's interested in advocacy and membership recruitment through the ACP and will transition to a hospitalist role when his chief year is done. Very nice interview, Mitch!

I'd love to see many of you attend our September webinar and at the annual meeting.

The next newsletter will feature profiles of our two governor-elect candidates. We have a very difficult decision ahead as we have two excellent candidates.

Until next time,

Josh

Call for Spring 2026 Resolutions

Are you concerned about a practice or clinical issue or have an idea you would like to suggest? If so, consider submitting a resolution to your Governor or chapter council.

Initiating a resolution provides ACP members an opportunity to focus attention at the ACP national level on an issue or topic. Participating in the resolutions process allows members to shape College policy that impacts the practice of internal medicine.

Not sure how to begin drafting a resolution? The ACP Board of Governors Resolutions Guide for ACP Members will walk you through the essential steps. The Guide provides a short overview and highlights ACP resources you must use.

Once drafted, members must submit resolutions to their Governor and/or chapter council. Chapter council approval is required to move resolutions forward to ACP national. The deadline for submitting new resolutions to be heard at the Spring 2026 Board of Governors Meeting is September 26, 2025.
