PHILADELPHIA, September 8, 2026 – The American College of Physicians (ACP) has named Ethan Gray, CAE, as Chief Membership and Engagement Officer, effective September 21, 2026. 

Gray joins ACP with extensive experience leading membership growth and engagement strategies for medical associations and nonprofit organizations. In this role, he will provide leadership, strategic direction, and data-informed business development planning for ACP’s domestic and global membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts.

“At a time when internal medicine physicians are navigating rapid change, Ethan brings the relevant experience and member-focused approach needed to help ACP continue to grow, thrive, and deliver value,” said LeRoi Hicks, MD, MPH, MACP, ACP’s Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer. 

Gray has most recently served as Chief Relationship Officer at Talley Management Group where he provided strategic leadership for national and international client partnerships, operations, and service delivery. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Membership at the Society of Hospital Medicine, responsible for engagement, business performance, and growth. Gray is a Certified Association Executive and member of the American Society of Association Executives.
