ACP Announces Changes to News Publications
PHILADELPHIA, January 5, 2026 — The American College of Physicians (ACP) today launched a variety of changes to its news publications to reduce its carbon footprint, control expenditures, and streamline content delivery.
ACP members will continue to have access to the top-notch, award-winning clinical and College news that has been the standard of its publications. I.M. Matters from ACP, published in print for over 40 years, and I.M. Matters Weekly from ACP, its companion e-newsletter, will transition to a single monthly online-only publication, with new articles released weekly. ACP members will receive the e-alert Latest From I.M. Matters on Tuesdays when new articles are published online, as well as an electronic I.M. Matters table of contents via email once per month. In addition:
- ACP will publish a new feature, I.M. Matters News, in its flagship medical journal, Annals of Internal Medicine. I.M. Matters News will offer timely news updates on clinical research, policy, medical education, and other topics.
- I.M. Matters from ACP, ACP Diabetes Monthly, and ACP Gastroenterology Monthly will join ACP Hospitalist as exclusive benefits of ACP membership.
As part of the transition, all of ACP’s publication websites will receive a new, updated look by moving to the Atypon platform, which currently hosts ACP’s peer-reviewed clinical journals, Annals of Internal Medicine and Annals of Internal Medicine: Clinical Cases.
“These changes will allow us to offer our members trusted and valued information in a more efficient, accessible, and environmentally responsible way,” said Todd Ware, ACP’s Chief Publishing Officer & Senior Vice President, Publishing. “We’re incredibly excited to provide them with an enhanced, more engaging experience.”
