Annual Meeting Industry Disclosure

All commercial support/promotional sponsorships permitted for ACP's annual Internal Medicine Meeting complies with ACP Guiding Principles for Relationships with External Entities, which are based on ACP ethics policies, ACP policies on industry relations, ACP professionalism standards, the CMSS Code for Interactions with Companies and ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education. Consistent with these principles and policies from ACP and others, commercial support does not influence the content of educational offerings, or give the appearance that ACP endorses exhibitor/supporter products.

  • A clear line between education and promotion preserves ACP's integrity, trust in the medical profession, and assures neither the appearance of nor actual influence on the independent clinical judgment of ACP members.
  • ACP continues to make reasonable efforts to seek multiple supporters for sponsorship opportunities and to achieve a "balanced portfolio of support" from healthcare companies.
  • Promotional/educational activities offered by organizations other than ACP, whether designated for CME credit or not, must be clearly distinguished from ACP CME activity.
  • All promotional materials must comply with CMSS Code and PhRMA Code.
  • ACP limits all commercial support/promotional sponsorships to the exhibit hall and general lobby space.
