You are here
Welcome to the South Dakota Chapter of the American College of Physicians' website. We are pleased to provide you with access to vital and practical information regarding our many educational, professional, and advocacy activities.
If you are a medical student, resident in Internal Medicine, or an internist, I urge you to consider joining the ACP, the largest specialty society in organized medicine. Our mission is to provide educational and professional support to members and patients. As you may know, the College plays a major role in the development of key legislation that has helped internists and patients alike. That's why we are widely recognized as a leader in Washington, D.C. in the advancement of many important legislative issues.
Through the Annals of Internal Medicine, the ACP Journal Club, and the Physician's Information Education Resource (PIER), the College is a leader in the development of scientifically-based practice information. Through the Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program (MKSAP) and other CME programs, the South Dakota chapter provides internists with peer-reviewed, evidence-based educational content that is second to none.
Through Annual Scientific Meetings, we bring together our membership of internists, residents, and medical students to learn from each other and to share the latest information to help improve the practice of Internal Medicine.
If you are an internist in South Dakota but not yet an ACP member, I invite you to browse our site to learn more about the College and our activities in South Dakota and across the United States.
If you are already a member and might qualify for one of the multiple paths to fellowship, I ask you to consider such advancement.
