Candidate Bios
Candidate Statement: As a small community clinician, I have learned that physicians can lead change in a robust manner. It does require creating trust, motivation and dedication. My interests have resulted from my experience in the smallest county in Arizona and my involvement with the Arizona Chapter. I have had great mentors that have taught me valuable lessons. I participate in advocacy efforts that have resulted in supporting and opposing legislation that affect our patients. I have developed a strong interest in mental health support for our physicians and contributed to the effort to remove mental health questions from the medical licensure application. Since we led the COVID 19 response, we have expanded our community engagement with in-person presentations, Facebook Live and a podcast. I can contribute to the Arizona Chapter using those experiences that I have learned from others, involvement in leadership positions and practicing medicine for many years.

Candidate Statement: I am honored for the opportunity to lead the Arizona Chapter of the American College of Physicians. I turned down multiple past requests to run for Governor as I was unable to fully dedicate myself to the role. The time is right now! My prior experience as President of a different national association, association management training, active ACP involvement since 1992 and service on multiple boards will allow me to continue advancing the chapter's positive trajectory set by preceding Governors. My vision is to champion support for all internal medicine physicians throughout the state while continuing exceptional programming of those in academic systems. As professionals delivering excellence in patent care, you deserve robust support from your chapter through education, advocacy, mentorship, networking, and other resources. The Arizona Chapter has brilliant, phenomenally engaged members. Together, we will succeed supporting each other through the chapter’s endeavors. I appreciate your support!
