Who We Are

Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences is a postgraduate medical institution founded upon principles for educating and training health care professionals to serve the rural and medically underserved communities in the Northwest. Upon its founding in 2005, PNWU-COM became the Pacific Northwest’s first medical school in over 60 years.

PNWU’s 70-acre campus houses over 280 first- and second-year medical students who train under the careful instruction of highly skilled faculty. In addition to the five buildings that comprise the Yakima campus, 17 core rotation sites throughout the Northwest provide clinical practice during student rotations in years three and four.

PNWU is committed to bridging the gap in healthcare access through innovative interprofessional education and strong community support, aligning collaborative learning practices with partnership programs offered on campus.

PNWU recently launched its Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to increase the focus on DEI across campus and with all partners.
