The Joint Commission Statement on Removing Barriers to Mental Health Care for Clinicians and Health Care Staff
On May 12, The Joint Commission issued a statement urging organizations to remove barriers that prevent health care workers from seeking mental health treatment. The Joint Commission supports the guidance of the Federation of State Medical Boards and the American Medical Association to limit inquiries to conditions that currently impair clinicians rather than asking about past mental health treatment.
