The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served the chapter and made a significant impact on the chapter's viability. The award winner should exemplify ACP's core values, including leadership, excellence, respect, compassion, professionalism, and responsibility.
Virginia U. Collier, MD, MACP is the Hugh R. Sharp, Jr. Chair of Medicine at Christiana Care Health System, and professor of medicine at Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Collier was the governor of the Delaware chapter from 2000-2004, and served for three years as a member of the Board of Regents. She is a strong administrator as well as an excellent clinician and educator.
She was named Laureate of the Delaware chapter in 2009, and was elected to Mastership (MACP) in 2012. Dr. Collier has served on numerous ACP committees. She is an associate editor for MKSAP, and has authored numerous articles on medical education.
