Vermont Chapter Student Opportunities (8/17/20) - First, please join me in thanking Matt Tsai and Dylan Koundakjian – 4th year students at the Larner College of Medicine – for their truly exceptional contributions to the Vermont Chapter of the ACP over the past several years.  In anticipation of their graduation next spring, the Vermont ACP Chapter is looking for a few students (1st or 2nd year preferably) interested in taking over their roles and building on their amazing work.

Here is a brief description of the upcoming opportunities:
Join the Vermont ACP Council.  The Council consists of approximately 10 VT ACP members. It helps to plan chapter events such as the annual chapter meeting and abstract/poster competition, inform responses to national ACP resolutions, and advise the governor on a wide variety of topics.  The Council meets virtually for 1 hour approximately 4 times per year and there is occasionally a small amount of work in between meetings - such as reviewing resolutions or generating ideas for events.  It truly shapes the activities and priorities of the VT ACP Chapter.
Manage the social media presence for the Vermont ACP Chapter. Highlight news, research, policy and chapter activities important to Vermont ACP members at all levels.  Currently, the chapter uses Twitter (@ACP_Vermont) as its primary social media platform.  Approximate commitment of 1-2 hours per month.
Host and produce a podcast series.  “Green Mountain Medicine” – an original podcast series for all things internal medicine – was created by Matt and Dylan in their roles as VT ACP student members.  They have produced 11 episodes to date on a variety of topics –  targeting VT ACP members, but appealing to all those interested in medicine.  At my last check, the podcast had more than 1,200 downloads.

If you are interested in any of these roles, please send me a few sentences briefly describing your interest and any experiences or skills you think may be relevant.  If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me (, Dylan ( or Matt (

Best regards,

Nominate a Colleague for Chapter Awards (5/28/20) - ACP VT Chapter members are a talented group of physicians. It is important to recognize individual contributions so please look at the National and local College Awards (see attached) with the criteria that are evaluated and let me know if there are individuals you would like the awards committee to consider. We have a few nominations to consider but would like any others. The deadline for this year is July 1. Please email any nominations to Colleen Magne at

Request from Vermont Department on Health (4/3/20) - The Vermont Department of Health has reached out to the Vermont Medical Society and is requesting that any physician that is providing outpatient adult health care to complete the survey below regarding COVID - 19 Testing.
