Joseph E. Johnson Leadership Award
In honor of: The late Dr. Joseph E. Johnson III, former ACP
Governor, Regent, Treasurer, Interim Executive Vice President, and
Senior Vice President for Membership.
The award recognizes a Resident/Fellow member of the College who has demonstrated qualities that exemplify the College's mission "to enhance the quality and effectiveness of health care by fostering excellence and professionalism in the practice of medicine." For each year considered, nominees must be Resident/Fellow members as of June 30th of that year. Nominees may have outstanding achievements in any of a wide variety of areas, including leadership, medical practice, research, teaching, publications, advocacy, and/or volunteerism.
Please note: The awards process is different for the Johnson Award: a minimum of three letters of support is required, with five the maximum for nomination, and the deadline for all nomination materials is April 1st.
Nominating and supporting letters should address:
- What qualities the nominee demonstrated exemplify the College's mission?
- What significant contributions has the nominee made to the areas of leadership, medical practice, research, teaching, publications, advocacy, and/or volunteerism?
- Did the achievements of this nominee merit local, state, national, or international recognition?
