PHILADELPHIA, May 14, 2012 -- The American College of Physicians
(ACP) is pleased to announce that ACP Internist and ACP
Hospitalist have won awards for excellence in publishing.
ACP Internist won a Silver EXCEL award from Association
Media and Publishing for General Excellence in the Newspapers
category, and writer Stacey Butterfield won a Silver EXCEL award in
the Newspapers: Feature Article (more than 50,000) category for her
story "How many are
too many for CT scans?" in the February 2011 ACP
In the American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors
(ASHPE) awards, ACP Internist tied for bronze in the Best
Cover: Illustration category for David Cutler's "How many are
too many for CT scans?" illustration in the February 2011
issue, and ACP Hospitalist won a bronze in the Best Single
Issue (Magazine) category for its April 2011
"I'd like to congratulate the entire publications staff on these
well-deserved and prestigious awards," said Steven Weinberger, MD,
FACP, executive vice president and CEO of ACP, the organization
that publishes ACP Internist and ACP Hospitalist.
"ACP's publications - from our monthly print newspapers to our
weekly e-newsletters - continue to be invaluable sources of news
and clinical information for the entire internal medicine
ACP Internist and ACP Hospitalist highlight news
on the diagnosis and treatment of complex or chronic diseases;
