ACP Leaders Circle

The ACP Leaders Circle is designed to provide an opportunity to directly support important educational resources for members and the entire internal medicine community.

Goal: $100,000

Help ACP continue to lead internal medicine and improve the lives of our members and their patients by contributing $500 or more to the ACP Leaders Circle.

Donate today!

Your contribution of $500 or more can be earmarked for the ACP Travel Grants Program or towards a General Fund that helps supports an array of ACP educational resources.

ACP Travel Grants Program

The ACP Travel Grants Program provides travel support to early career Members and Fellows of the College to attend the ACP Internal Medicine Meeting each year.

The travel grants are available to all full members of the College; however, special consideration is given to first-time attendees, physicians who serve rural or underserved populations, physicians of diverse backgrounds, and those without a significant source for CME funding.

In its first year, the program sent twenty early-career physicians to Internal Medicine Meeting 2017. Their experiences attending the meeting helped shape their professional growth this past year:

One physician came to the meeting overwhelmed by the current medical system. She found a mentor at the meeting and left feeling stronger and more in control of her professional life. She is now taking action locally by implementing organizational change within her employment group to help prevent other physicians from feeling burned out.

Another grantee, an osteopathic physician with limited prior exposure to ACP, felt the meeting exposed him to new experiences and helped him to network and broadened his view of the medical profession. He feels better equipped to care for his patients and now considers himself an ACP member for life!

A grantee who served in the military was unable to attend past meetings due to training and deployment. Currently, she works in global health, and after leaving the meeting she started a global health curriculum at her medical school and is developing a global health residency track.
