How do I log in? Do I need to create a new account?
Tap “Log in with your account” and enter your ACP Online username and password. The app is open to current ACP members, so you do not need to create a new account.
If you have trouble logging in, double-check to make sure your membership is current/active. Note that the first time you open certain online resources from within the app, e.g., MyACP or the Member Directory, you may be prompted to log in again. You should only need to do so one time.
How do I configure my notifications so I don't get too many (or too few)?
Assuming you allow the ACP Connect app to send notifications to your device (see instructions for adjusting notification settings on Apple/iOS and Google/Android), by default you will be subscribed to receive notifications from new Community posts, direct Messages from other members, and any replies to posts you choose to follow (tap “+ Follow” on the post).
To change these settings globally, you can update how these notifications appear on your device using your device’s settings. To change specifically which notifications you receive, tap “More” then “Settings” then “Notification Settings” to see your options.
What if my profile data is incorrect/out of date?
Your profile data, including your name and geographic location, is populated from your ACP member account. For this reason, if you see erroneous or non-current data, tap on “More” then "MyACP” then tap the “VIEW MORE” button or scroll down to the “VIEW ACCOUNT INFORMATION” to access links to make edits. Alternatively, you can simply contact us to have the changes made for you.
Can I sort or filter the News Feed to find content most important to me?
Yes, you can filter the posts using the “Tags” feature. At the top of the News Feed screen, tap “Tags” then select one or more tags to indicate which content you’d like to see, then tap “Done.” To switch back to viewing all posts, tap the “X” next to the Tags button at the top of the News Feed.
The app asks me to allow it to know my location. How do I turn it off?
If you allow the app to know your location, this information can be used to allow other members in your area to discover you (see “More” then “App Users” then tap the “Near Me” icon in the top right to view). If you do not wish to share this data, simply disallow the app from having access to your location data or go to "More” then “Settings” and toggle the “I’m available for Near Me” to the OFF position.
Can I start a new Community?
No, individual members cannot add a new Community to the collection. If you have an idea for a new Community, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us to offer your suggestion. We have some limitations to how many Communities we can support, so we have started with the Member Forums that had activity within the last year or so. We encourage you to utilize these to post your thoughts and share with others.
Can I be removed from the “App Users” listing?
How can I use the app to chat with a group of colleagues?
To utilize the group messaging feature, tap the Messages tab at the bottom of the screen, then tap “Group” at the top. Then tap the “+” icon in the top right and add your colleagues to the group and start chatting. For easy access in the future, you can name the group by tapping “...” in the top right of the group chat and choosing “Rename Chat.” You can also add additional members by tapping “...” and “Add Members.” Doing so will include them in future chats, but will not display any chat content your group has created prior to their joining the group.
