Rodolfo V. Young, MD, MACP graduated as a physician from Northwestern University in Chicago. He did his specialties in internal medicine and pulmonary disease in Gorgas Hospital, San Francisco General Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He rapidly became chief of the department of respiratory disease at Gorgas Hospital until he retired in 1980. Dr. Young was one of the founders of the medical school at the University of Panama in 1951, as well as serving as Dean in 1972 for several years.
Dr. Young received the Laureate Award in 1990 and a Masters of the College in 1999. At the present time he is the Vice President of the Board of Directors for Santo Tomas Hospital, a charitable hospital in Panama City, Panama.
