The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's
centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served

Enrique G. Lopez-Caffarena, MD, MACP became involved with ACP
when he was President of the Santiago Medical Society. He
co-directed the annual courses that the College and the Santiago
Medical Society had been giving since 1968. Dr. Lopez-Caffarena
played a role in establishing ACP's Chile Chapter. He developed the
idea for establishing the Affiliate Region of the ACP in Chile.
Chile was the first Affiliate Region in South American, and was
made a full region, and subsequently a Chapter of the College. Dr.
Lopez-Caffarena also was instrumental in recruiting members.
