Action Alert: Urge Congress to Reduce Administrative Burden
ACP is calling on internal medicine physicians to contact your members of Congress to ask them to support the Improving Seniors Timely Access to Care Act and the Safe Step Act. The Improving Seniors Timely Access to Care Act would further streamline prior authorization for Medicare Advantage plans. The Safe Step Act would require group health plans to provide an exception process to any medication step therapy protocol.

Action Alert: Urge Congress to Support the Conrad State 30 and Physician Access Reauthorization Act
ACP is calling on internal medicine physicians to contact your members of Congress to ask them to support the Conrad State 30 and Physician Access Reauthorization Act. The Conrad 30 waiver program allows states to request J-1 visa waivers for 30 foreign physicians per state, per year to work in federally designated shortage areas. Reauthorizing and strengthening the program is one policy solution to help alleviate the physician shortage.
