ACP: Proposed 2020 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Embraces Reforms That Reflect Value of Primary Care
The proposed Medicare Physician Fee Schedule includes important changes to evaluation and management codes, as well as updates to the Quality Payment Program and the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System proposed rules.
The College proposed three principles to Congress: hold patients harmless, ensure network adequacy and opt for fair payment with dispute resolution process.
August is National Immunization Awareness month. ACP is reminding adults about the importance of vaccinations for protection against many common and serious diseases. The latest adult immunization schedule and recommendations approved by the ACIP are available in Annals of Internal Medicine. ACP's Adult Immunization Resource Hub is another source of information for the latest vaccine recommendations, patient education resources, quality improvement strategies, practice assessments, and more.
ACP is partnering with the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) on #ProudtobeGIM, a nationwide campaign to introduce medical students and first- and second-year residents to the field of general internal medicine. For more information and to complete a grant application, visit the program website. The application deadline is Sept. 20 at 5:00 p.m. ET. For inquiries about hosting an event, visit SGIM's website.
