ACP Policy Framework Addresses Disparities and Discrimination in Health Care
A new comprehensive policy paper confronts the interconnected and compounding aspects of U.S. society that contribute to poorer health outcomes for persons based on their race, ethnicity, religious, and/or cultural identities. Additional policy recommendations specifically address the issue in education and the health care workforce, and in criminal justice practices.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Related Advocacy
ACP is closely monitoring the global situation caused by the outbreak and spread of COVID-19. We are advocating for immediate steps the administration, Congress, state governments and private sector stakeholders can take to help address the situation.
Where We Stand
Administrative burdens, inadequate physician payments, high drug prices, and lack of access to affordable health care coverage are making it harder for internists to practice medicine, earn a living, and help patients.
ACP advocates for policies that improve patients' health care and well-being along with a persistent push for better reimbursement for internists and the elimination of unnecessary administrative tasks that hinder your practice of medicine. We press legislators and regulators for changes that can successfully improve your daily work experience and free you up to focus on the care you were trained to provide.
