ACP Center for Quality

PSO logo

As the largest medical-specialty organization and second-largest physician group in the United States, two of ACP's most important priorities are helping our physicians provide the best possible care to their patients and reducing unnecessary costs to the health care system.

The College's High Value Cost-Conscious Care initiative is one example of how we are delivering resources to physicians to achieve these goals.

The Center for Quality is another important resource for our physicians. In 2012, the Center was designated as a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The Center's mission is to develop innovative tools and programs for healthcare professionals in order to improve patient care and to meet professional and reimbursement requirements, such as earning MOC Practice Assessment points.

ACP QI Resources - Adult Immunization

Immunization rates in the United States continue to fall well below federal goals and ACP is committed to helping internal medicine physician members and their practice teams increase adult immunization rates among their patients.

Most recently, ACP was awarded an initial $175,000 grant for 2012-13 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to create a three-year, evidence-based program to increase adult immunization rates in five states. Read the Release
