Creating Connections and Bridging Communities at ACP's Internal Medicine Meeting

“The best part of attending … is the networking. I keep coming back because it reinvigorates me every time I attend, that energy that internal medicine physicians have in changing health care systems … you will find an excellent place where you can use your knowledge, learn, and collaborate with others.”
—Ricardo Correa, MD, FACP, FACE
The most consistent thing we hear from members is a desire for more connection and collaboration with their community of peers. The best place to make that happen is at the annual marquee educational event for internal medicine physicians and subspecialists around the globe. Join us in San Francisco, CA, April 16-18, 2026, at ACP's annual Internal Medicine Meeting. Together we will share in 3 days of unparalleled professional revitalization and make invaluable connections with our internal medicine community. Whether it's your first Internal Medicine Meeting or if you keep coming back each year, there are ample opportunities to bridge connections, find support, and spark your spirit. We are excited to see you all once again this year at the Career and Professional Development Center in the Exhibit Hall—don't forget to stop by the Well-being Fun Zone and grab your ACP Recharge Kit! Also, to any WBCs (current and alumni) who will be presenting at Internal Medicine Meeting 2026, please let us know by e-mailing acpwellbeing@acponline.org so that we can add your sessions to our list of highlighted activities.
We are also continuing to learn the value of building relationships and strengthening your personal well-being and professional fulfillment through peer coaching. A recent study published in Annals of Internal Medicine found that professional coaching was effective for managing physician burnout. ACP will offer Physician Peer Coaching both in person at the Internal Medicine Meeting and virtually throughout the year. Take a look at our current roster of amazing coaches and think about scheduling a session for yourself in the new year. There is also still time to register for the Winter 2026 session of our Peer Coach Training Program. Contact coaching@acponline.org for more information.
Lastly, ACP is proud to be acknowledged by the National Academy of Medicine as a Change Maker Organization and an inaugural member of the Change Maker Accelerator Program. ACP has been a founding partner with diverse organizations to advance NAM's Clinician Well-being Efforts toward the shared goals of institutionalizing well-being as a core value and creating sustainable, positive work and learning environments. Finally, in an effort to bridge these initiatives and help create a shared language around physician well-being, we are excited to announce that on March 18, 2026, in conjunction with Health Workforce Well-Being (HWWB) Day, the ACP Well-being Champion curriculum will launch as a member-exclusive resource available to all ACP members.
