Start a Domino Effect for Well-being Right Where You Are

“Being a Well-being Champion came with some struggles early on, but it taught me how to welcome challenges and bring about change. My time as a WBC opened the door to my involvement in ACP both locally and nationally. My chapter now openly talks about well-being issues and even has a ‘Bat Away the Burnout’ piñata at our meeting each year—full of candy and treats we share during trivia night!”
—Allison Ruff, MD, MHPE, FACP
ACP's Well-being Champion (WBC) program began as a response to the crisis levels of physician burnout and to bridge the forecasted physician gap to make the practice of medicine sustainable and avoid a public health crisis. Since 2017 we have trained over 250 Well-being Champions who have served on the chapter and national level and engaged in well over 1,700 activities. In an effort to make these initiatives available to all ACP members and help create a shared language around physician well-being, we are excited to officially announce that the ACP Well-being Champion curriculum launched as a member-exclusive resource on March 18, 2026, in conjunction with Health Workforce Well-Being (HWWB) Day. Please help us spread the word by downloading the WBC Curriculum Communications Toolkit, available through our Social Share Zone.
Don't forget—there's still time to register for the annual marquee educational event for internal medicine physicians and subspecialists around the globe. Join us in San Francisco, CA, April 16–18, 2026, at ACP's annual Internal Medicine Meeting. Together we will share in 3 days of unparalleled professional revitalization and make invaluable connections with our internal medicine community. Whether it's your first Internal Medicine Meeting or if you keep coming back each year, there are ample opportunities to bridge connections, find support, and spark your spirit. We are excited to see you all once again this year at the Career and Professional Development Center in the Exhibit Hall—don't forget to stop by the Well-being Fun Zone and grab your ACP Recharge Kit!
