Qatar 3rd Internal Medicine Conference

In October 2016 I attended the 3rd annual Internal Medicine Conference in Doha, Qatar. The two day meeting provided education in topics as varied as salutogenesis to diabetes care. I was accompanied by Dr. Trish Pearl, from the University of Texas Health System, Chair of Infectious Disease and Dr. Darren Taichman, Vice President for ACP Publications and Associate Editor of the Annals of Internal Medicine and Marisa McCarren, Director of ACP International Programs.
I gave the keynote address titled Immunization Update and grand rounds at the Hamad Medical Center on Cancer Screening Guidelines in addition to High Value Care Cases. Dr. Taichman talked on writing and editing research manuscripts and practice changing papers from the Annals of Internal Medicine. Dr. Pearl spoke on antibiotic prophylaxis and screening for infection and bad gram negatives.
Dr. Abdhul Nasser Elzouki and the program committee are commended on an excellent meeting with enthusiastic attendees, good coordination and excellent presentations. Our team had a wonderful experience of collegial interactions and learning and listening. We fostered new relationships and were most appreciative of the kindness and generosity of our hosts.
