Promoting Your Practice
To help build a healthy practice, you will have to promote your business. Many physicians establishing a new practice send announcements to other physicians and health care professionals in their area. Physicians in the community may list their practices in both the yellow and white pages of the phone book. It is generally acceptable to list your practice by your name as well as specialty. Physicians can put up their own Web sites and arrange for links with other sites. The College's Center for Practice Improvement and Innovation is another source of information and personal consultation. You can contact the Center at 800-338-2746, extension 4565. A comprehensive marketing manual is available free to College members .
