Meet Our Governor-elect Designee
New Jersey Southern Region
Congratulations to the New Jersey Southern Region Governor-Elect Designee, Saba A. Hasan, MBBS, FACP. Her term as Governor-elect will begin on February 1, 2016. As Governor, Dr. Hasan will serve as the official representative of the College for the New Jersey Southern Region, providing a link between members at the local level and leadership at the national level. In the meantime, Dr. Hasan will be working closely with Dr. Peskin (the current Governor) and College staff to learn about the College and her duties as Governor. EDUCATION: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) - Sind Medical College, Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Center, Karachi, Pakistan (1985)
POST DOCTORAL TRAINING: Internal Medicine Residency Training - Internal Medicine Residency Program, Capital Health System (June 1996 - June 1999)
CERTIFICATION: Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine Examination (1999 & 2009)
PRESENT POSITION: Director, Internal Medicine Residency Program at Capital Health (January 2008 to present)
ACP CHAPTER INVOLVEMENT/LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES: Planning Committee member- NJ Chapter, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016, NJ Chapter Scientific Meeting participation, 2011, 2013 & 2014, Member - ACP NJ Chapter Governor's Council 2012- To date; served as the Council's Secretary; Activities include planning Chapter activities and meetings. Responsible for writing learning objectives for the chapter's CME program/Annual Chapter meeting- 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015, ACP NJ Chapter Hospitalist Summit, October 2014 - wrote learning objectives, ACP NJ IM PD Collaboration- 2013,

OTHER APPOINTMENTS/ACTIVITIES: Awards: Award recipient of 2014 Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award by ACGME. This prestigious award is given to up to 10 program directors annually out of more than 8,000 ACGME-accredited residencies and fellowships nationally.
