The Chapter Centennial Legacy Award celebrates ACP's centennial by recognizing one influential chapter member who served the chapter and made a significant impact on the chapter's viability. The award winner should exemplify ACP's core values, including leadership, excellence, respect, compassion, professionalism, and responsibility.

Donald B. Hunton, MD, FACP practiced internal medicine and gastroenterology in Cheyenne, WY for over 32 years. He fostered academic excellence, practiced compassionate patient care, and was involved in many areas in the regulatory and business aspects of medicine. From 1985-1988, Dr. Hunton was the Governor of ACP's Wyoming Chapter. He served on ACP's FLEX Committee, as President of the Wyoming Medical Society, on the Wyoming Board of Medicine and Wyoming Board of Pharmacy. He co-founder the Internal Medicine Group in Cheyenne, WY in 1972. Dr. Hunton was the recipient of the Third Laureate Award from Wyoming Chapter in 1982.
