BOG Action on Spring Resolutions: Recommendations to the Board of Regents
At its April 10, 2013, Business Meeting, the Board of Governors (BOG) voted to recommend 5 resolutions for adoption as amended, refer 2 resolutions for study and report back to the BOG, and voted not to adopt 3 resolutions.
Keep in mind that the BOG recommendations below are not final and are subject to change by the ACP Board of Regents upon their review. A summary of the BOR's actions taken at the April 13 meeting will be posted shortly which will provide the final disposition on S13 BOG resolutions.
Recommended for BOR Adoption as Amended:
1-S13. Embracing the Concepts of Shared Decision Making and Patient Directed Goals of Care
2-S13. Endorsing and Promoting Documentation to Improve Communication within the Electronic Medical Record
4-S13. Supporting the Provision of the Medicare Annual Wellness Visit only by Primary Care Clinicians
6-S13. Assessing ACP Membership Benefits for Members Employed in Large Health Care Groups
9-S13. Encouraging the ACGME to Develop and Maintain Evidence Based Program Requirements
Referred for Study and Report Back to the BOG:
3-S13. Studying Financial Collaboration between Long-term Facilities and Hospitals to Reduce Overall Healthcare Costs and Improve Patient Care
8-S13. Urging the ABIM to Rescind the Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine Maintenance of Certification Track
