The Georgia Chapter American College of Physicians (ACP) includes many inspirational members who have very accomplished. The American College of Physicians will recognize accomplishments of distinguished Georgia Members through the College's awards and Masterships program at the 2016 Internal Medicine Meeting in D.C. The College will recognize outstanding contributions in the practice of medicine, teaching, research, public service, leadership, and medical volunteerism. The Georgia Chapter ACP members and Georgia health care organizations will be honored with the following awards as nominated by Georgia ACP and approved by the ACP Board of Regents:
- Jane F. Desforges Distinguished Teacher Award: Joyce P. Doyle, MD, MACP
Congratulations to the following Georgia members who were selected to become Masters of the College (MACP). To be considered for Mastership, the candidate must have made a notable contribution to medicine. This includes but is not limited to teaching, outstanding work in clinical medicine (research or practice), contributions to preventive medicine, improvements in the delivery health care, or contributions to medical literature:
- Steven L. Carpenter, MD, MACP
- Joyce P. Doyle, MD, MACP
- George Waldon Garriss III, MD, MACP
