As ACP Governor for the Alberta chapter, I look forward to strengthening the link that currently practicing and future general internists in Alberta have with the ACP. Although we have a significant number of members currently in Alberta, I believe there is a large group of internists that are unaware of the benefits that an ACP membership can provide them, which I plan on actively highlighting. Furthermore, we have a very small number of Fellows currently within our chapter and only a handful of Masters. I will actively encourage and support more deserving individuals in Alberta to apply for these distinctions. Finally, I look forward to being a liaison between members and the ACP leadership to bring forward issues and concerns relating to GIM practice in Alberta and serving on various ACP committees and groups to represent the Alberta perspective.
