Noel N. Deep, MD, FACP, ACP Governor, Wisconsin Chapter
Greetings from the Northwoods. It is an honor and privilege to serve as your Governor of the Wisconsin Chapter of the American College of Physicians. I started my term at the conclusion of ACP's annual meeting, Internal Medicine 2018. I look forward to my role as the chapter Governor and your representative to the Board of Governors, the advisory body to the Board of Regents.
As I begin my term, I would like to thank a few individuals who have served this chapter. First and foremost, I would like to start by thanking my predecessor, Dr. Mark Belknap for his vision and leadership over the past 4 years. I would also like to thank the members who serve on the Governor's Advisory Council, several of whom have done so for several years. I sincerely appreciate the time that you take from your busy practices and your personal lives to help enrich and invigorate our chapter with your help and guidance in running our chapter. I would also like to thank our Chapter Executive, Jenni Kilpatrick, and the staff for helping us with the day-to-day operations of the chapter.

The American College of Physicians is aware of the increasing rates of physician burnout and the role of regulatory burdens in physician practices. Follow this link to find out what the College is doing to help improve physician wellness and decreased burnout. We are indeed fortunate to have two of our physicians, Dr. Martin Muntz and Dr. Margaret Paulson, who completed their training in New Orleans to become the Physician Well-being Champions for our chapter. Please join them at our annual chapter meeting at the Wisconsin Dells to hear them speak about how we can improve physician wellness.
Several chapter members joined me in Washington, D.C. for ACP's annual Leadership Day on May 22 nd and 23 rd, 2018 . It is a great opportunity for the physicians and the medical students and resident physician members to come together to network, hear about issues that influence our daily practice of medicine, and interact with our elected national legislators and their staff. It has been a great and rewarding experience for me over the past ten years and I encourage you to consider attending one of the future Leadership Day activities.
