Message from the Governor
Warm greetings to you! As we enjoy these crisp fall days and prepare for the winter season and snow, I would like to share with you about the state and national ACP activities.
In September, we had another successful state chapter meeting and scientific session. The meeting was well attended and received excellent reviews from the attendees. The residents participated enthusiastically and here are the results of the winners in the vignette and displayed poster competitions.
The winners of the vignette competitions will receive support from the chapter to present at the ACP national meeting, Internal Medicine, in Philadelphia in April 2019. I would like to thank all of the residents and their mentors and program directors for their participation and support of the event. I would like to express my thanks to the Addis Costello Family for their ongoing financial support of the displayed poster winners. Wisconsin Wins a 25th Anniversary John Tooker Evergreen All-Star Award
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the John Tooker Evergreen Awards Program, the Evergreen All-Star Awards recognizes the Wisconsin Chapter's program, Hospitalist Committee. The program has contributed to the strength and breadth of ACP and its chapters, and demonstrated sustainability through successive leadership terms. Congratulations to the members who have served and continue to serve on the Hospitalist Committee!
2018 Fall Board of Governors Meeting
In late September, I attended the Fall Board of Governors meeting in Seattle and participated in the discussions on the resolutions and heard updates from the college leadership. It is a wonderful opportunity to interact with other chapter governors and the ACP Leadership and staff. I am always impressed by their knowledge and experience and it is a great learning experience for me. This year we had sent all our chapter members the resolutions that were to be discussed and received responses on several resolutions. We hope to involve our chapter members and solicit your input on the resolutions in the future. There was robust discussion and testimony presented on the resolutions and the BOG has sent these resolutions on to the Board of Regents. The final outcome and the Board of Regents decision on these resolutions will be available in the next several weeks.
