Candidate Bios
Candidate Statement: I am fortunate to have served on our Executive Council and helped coordinate an Annual Chapter Meeting, resident scholarship at our conferences, and more recently, our annual board review course. Through these activities, I have worked with our governors, council, administrative team, and members across the state and continue to be inspired by our Chapter members and their involvement in patient advocacy, leadership and compassionate patient care. Outside of ACP, I am an outpatient clinician involved in medical education and physician leadership. I hope to serve as your governor and would bring a passion for education and mentorship to this role. I plan to focus on increasing engagement and growing membership with Chapter coordinated local mini-CME events, expanding ACP mentorship programs, providing organizational and financial support for Chapter member projects in their community, and advocate for protecting the scope of internists and recognizing the impact workload has on burnout.

Candidate Statement: Internal Medicine physicians are practicing in an increasingly complex environment. My experience with ACP has improved my patient care through informative educational meetings, developed feelings of camaraderie with colleagues, and given me hope for change through state and federal advocacy being done by ACP. I have felt the benefits of ACP and wish to lead others to experience those same benefits. My Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship training and street medicine team management have taught me valuable skills to apply to this role— especially the leadership values of incorporating diverse experiences, collaboration, and adapting to change through visions of the future. The next Washington ACP Governor has the opportunity to further develop and promote the resources of ACP to help address the complex needs of internal medicine physicians in order to optimize the care they provide, and maximize their professional satisfaction. I appreciate being considered for this opportunity.
