Meet Our Governor
The Puerto Rico Chapter Governor, Myriam Z. Allende-Vigo, MD, FACP, began her four-year term as Governor in the Spring of 2018. As Governor, Dr. Allende-Vigo serves as the official representative of the College for the Puerto Rico Chapter, providing a link between members at the local level and leadership at the national level. Areas of Professional Interest/Expertise: Lectured and researched in the fields of Diabetes Mellitus, Adipose Tissue, Arterial Hypertension, Lipid Disorders, and Osteoporosis. A recognized speaker and presenter on the local, national and international levels. I'm a past president of the Puerto Rican Society of Endocrinology and Diabetology (SPED) and current president of the AACE PR Chap. I belong to several professional societies such as Alpha Omega Alpha, American Diabetes Association (ADA), the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), and the Endocrine Society.
