We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts for the 2015
ACP Pennsylvania Chapter Southeastern Region. The competition will
be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Queen Lane Campus of
Drexel University's College of Medicine.
This competition is limited to Resident/Fellow Members and
Medical Student members of the ACP PennsylvaniaSoutheastern Region
ONLY as well as those in the Delaware Chapter. If
you do not know your Pennsylvania Chapter region assignment, please
check the zip
code listing. If you are not currently an ACP member, residents
can join at online.
Abstracts will be accepted into three categories:
Clinical Vignette (reports of one or more cases
that illustrate a rare disease entity or an unusual clinical
presentation of an established disease), Research
(clinical and/or laboratory research, delineating a new
investigation into mechanisms of disease or consisting of a
detailed review of a clinical problem), and Quality
Improvement/Patient Safety. Refer to the
online guides on How to Write a Clinical Vignette Abstract and
How to Write a Research Abstract for more information.
All abstract submissions must be entered electronically via the
online abstract submission form, which will be available July 1.
Remember to use the Southeastern Region abstract link for
submitting your abstract.
Each abstract will be evaluated on scientific merit,
originality, presentation and clinical application. The abstract
selection is competitive and not all abstracts submitted will be
selected for poster presentation. Please note: only THREE abstracts
can be submitted per first author, and you may not submit more than
two abstracts in any category. Word limit is 350, plus title and
authors. Your abstract may not have been previously presented
anywhere. Please note that first author and actual presenter must
be members of the American College of Physicians (ACP). Submissions
will not be accepted without your ACP membership number.
The abstract submission deadline: 11:59 PM August 2,
2015. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be
accepted! We encourage you to submit early to ensure that your
abstract is received.
All communication regarding the abstract competition will be
sent electronically, so please make sure your submission e-mail
address is accurate. You will receive an individual e-mail
notification from Dr. Allison Ferris once she has received your
abstract. Authors of abstracts selected for poster presentation
will be notified by e-mail later in the summer.
Separately, Dr. David Bernstein, Chair of the Doctor's Dilemma
(Medical Jeopardy) competition, will send out an announcement. Only
residents may participate in Doctor's Dilemma.
We are very fortunate to have Dr. Allison Ferris and Dr. David
Bernstein chairing this wonderful competition. We also thank Drexel

We look forward to your participation! It is a great event.
