Brief History
The Ohio Associates Council of the American College of Physicians was created in March 2002 under the direction of Governor Hess and her council. The mission of the organization is to promote associate membership and participation in the Ohio State Chapter of the American College of Physicians. The Council is composed of two representatives from each of the 21 internal medicine residency programs in the state of Ohio.
We invite all ACP associate members to join the Associate Council. Please contact Theresa Huyen, Christopher Allen or Joseph Baber for further information.
We have many things to discuss, however we want your ideas. Please let us know any topics you would like the Associate Council to address. We look forward to hearing from you.
Purpose of the Council
A body in the local chapter of ACP, which will provide a forum for the discussion of physicians in training issues, develops programs for Associates and increases opportunities for participation in the chapter governance structure.

Medical School Involvement
The Council is trying to increase medical student involvement in the ACP. Click here for information about joining the College.
Key Contact Program
If you have not already done so, please take a moment to review the Key Contact Program. The program was established to ensure the ACP's continued success on Capitol Hill. Success greatly depends upon year-round grassroots support from the College's over 5000 Key Contacts. Key Contacts communicate with their members of Congress on issues of importance to medical students, internists and their patients, and report the results back to ACP.
