Message from the Governor
We are all in this together. I know some will be affected more than others, and I would like to thank all of you for providing care to patients during this pandemic.
We have a slew of information and recommendations coming at us from all over. Government agencies, healthcare administrations or employers, and of course social media gurus. During this time, it is important to be faithful to your oath and do what you feel is right for your patients away from politics and economics.
The way we practice medicine will change after this crisis and hopefully only for the better. It is an exciting and dangerous time to be a physician, but I have never been prouder.
Our communities and leadership are looking at us as the frontline in this battle. Your courage and steadfast will be remembered for years to come.
Most importantly be safe and healthy. Remember to take care of yourselves and your families so you can take care of others. Find the time to breathe, sleep, and relax. Ask for help and lean on others when needed.
North Dakota seems to have weathered this pandemic better than other states and I hope will be able to have our meeting as scheduled in October, share our stories and celebrate our victories.

ND Covid 19
You can also get the latest update on Covid 19 in the state through the ND Department of Health website and NDresponse on Facebook. Also, you can follow the daily update from Governor Burgum to stay informed about the different actions taken at the state level to slow the spread, assist healthcare facilities to take care of the sick, and flatten the curve.
Resolutions Update
It is clear we are living in unprecedented times with so much uncertainty about what lies ahead. After careful consideration of the feedback and comments received from the Board of Governors, many of who are on the front lines, the discussion of the spring resolutions has been postponed until the fall. The ability for many Governors to find the time or focus effectively on resolutions right now seems unlikely. Given there is a full slate of resolutions the College will not accept any new resolutions for the fall.
Save the Date! 2020 North Dakota Chapter Annual Scientific Meeting
The 2020 North Dakota Chapter Annual Scientific meeting will be in Fargo on October 15-16. The poster competition, Doctor's Dilemma competition, and Chapter social will be on Thursday, October 15. The meeting and awards luncheon will be on Friday, October 16, 2020. We plan to join the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) for the afternoon sessions on Friday.
We may change it to a virtual meeting depending on CDC guidelines at that time.
