It is an exciting period to be delivering health care in the Nation, the state of North Dakota and at a time when there are a myriad of issues facing us that are related but not limited to health care quality, transitions of care, electronic health records and the very definition of what it means to be a physician. Innovation and technology can be our friend, whether be it by enabling the care giver visualize the problem by the bedside (hand held ultrasound) or communicating relevant health care information in a fraction of a second and thereby improving efficiency, patient care communication and health care cost. Embracing and adapting to change would uniquely position us to provide the best care possible.
